Know Your Production Cost

I came across this article on agweb.com indicating how important it is to understand your cost of production on the accrual method of accounting.  It’s good to see experts encourage producers to think accrual accounting when calculating cost of production.   Determining accrual cost of production is a common best management practice in the manufacturing and processing industries. 

Why not the ag industry, which if you think about it, is manufacturing and processing.  It’s something we’ve been doing with our clients for years, and knowing accrual cost of production numbers has really made a difference in their planning and management decisions.
